Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy services include natural treatment with warmth, light, electric waves, water and exercise. These procedures help remove toxic substances from the tissues and the body, accelerate the exchange of nutritious substances between cells, relieve the pain, and improve the organism’s self-defend system and its general psycho-physical condition.
Kinesitherapy
Kinesitherapy is intended for guests, who wish to improve their muscle power and flexibility by exercise. It also has anti-pain and relaxing effect. Exercising in thermal water pools is easier and it is therefore easier to regain your flexibility.
The following exercises are performed in Health Centre Olimia:
- Spinal cord (back) exercises
- Relaxation exercise
- Pilates
- Rejuvenation exercises
Stabilization is a technique of contracting of deep muscles of the spinal cord and some joints. Those muscles are the stabilizers of the spinal cord and therefore very important for healthy back. The technique is based on moderate, slow and long lasting contractions of local muscles of the treated segment.
Mechanotherapy
Hypobaric therapy affects the microcirculation by negative pressure. It is used for treating sports injuries and swellings. It is also used for relieving circulation problems, helps by weight and cellulite loss and shortens the time of leg tiredness after training.
Pressotherapy is an overpressure therapy. It accelerates loss of swellings of different causes, improves blood circulation and supplies the tissues with oxygen (chronic vein insufficiency, lower leg abscess, preventive for vein thrombosis). It also performs in-depth body cleaning, removes waste substances and extra water.
Ultrasound therapy has mechanical and heat effects. It is used for treating degenerative diseases (arthrosis, spondylosis), rheumatic diseases, bones and soft tissues injuries and scars reduction.
Electrotherapy
Diadynamic and interference currents, TENS, electro-stimulation and laser bio-stimulation are used. We also perform iontophoresis.
Magnetotherapy
It works on the principle of electromagnetic waves that affect the biochemical and biophysical processes in cells. This therapy improves metabolism and cell renewal.
Manual techniques
Cyriax method is a therapeutic treatment of joints and soft tissues. It combines the principles of manual treatment of the spoinal cord and large joints, as well as targeted treatment of muscles and tendons. A precise diagnosis of affected structures is performed before each treatment. The diagnosis begins with anamnesis, which is followed by examination and functional testing of the treated area. After setting the diagnosis, we choose the most efficient therapeutic procedure, considering of course the personality of the individual and the duration and location of affected area. Various therapeutic options are possible: in-depth cross massage (friction), manipulation, mobilization and traction. These procedures are usually complemented by every day home exercise. The important part of this physiotherapy treatment is cross friction, which can in simple words be described as special massage technique of muscle-tendon crossings and tendon-bone connection. These areas can be affected and hurt mostly because of sport or chronic overburdening. For example: shoulder joints pain, tennis elbow, irritation of Achille’s tendon, stretching of knee joint. Some successive Cyriax method treatments can improve those conditions and also affect the tendons’ structure.
It is a successful manual therapy which uses a special technique and sequence of touches to relax the tensed and painful points of the muscles. This technique is suitable for acute and chronic problems, especially where it comes to paraesthesia due to long-lasting muscle tensions.
